Mrs. Borden & Mrs. Jones’ Nifty Newsletter (Week of November 19)

New Sight words were added to the sight word envelopes. Please continue to practice words and readers. A new reader will come home the week after Thanksgiving break. No written homework next week.

There will be an early dismissal on Wednesday November 21 at 1:00. There will be no school Thursday, November 22, Friday, November 23 or Monday, November 26. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

When we return our new letter in Phonics will be Ss as in sun. We will continue to blend words, read sentences and work with syllables.

In Math we will compare objects by weight, identify AB and ABB patterns and work with Geoboards.

Our new Reading story is Who’s Garden Is It?  We will discuss things that live and grow in a garden and compare fiction and nonfiction.

On Tuesday, November 4^th a paper will come home to complete a letter to Santa. One of our local postmen will be in to pick up the letters and deliver them to the North Pole! Letters should be returned by Monday December 3.

The K-2 Christmas concert will be held on Monday, December 17 at 9:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium.
