Math: We will be continuing our topic of making numbers and writing number sentences.  Our assessment will be at the end of the week. Please continue to practice writing numbers to 20.  We also practice counting to 100 by 1, 5, and 10.  We will continue to review the concepts of putting together (addition) and taking apart (subtraction).

Reading: Our new story is Mayday, Mayday!.  It is an informational text that we will be using to review cause and effect.  We will review all letters, sounds, and words that begin with each letter sound.  Please continue to practice sight words.  The progress is awesome, keep up the hard work!  Please also continue blending sounds together to make words and taking words apart by their sounds.  All of these things help children become better readers!

Science:  We are working very hard on wrapping up our topics on Plants and Animals.  We are looking at land animals and water animals.  We also have been writing based on information we learned from a story (Spring).

Handwriting: We talked about how signs in the community can be written in all capitals and how some capitals and lowercase letters have the same formation like: Ww, Xx, Cc, etc.
