Information on Newspaper in Education Week is today’s folder.
 
We enjoyed Read Across America today and thank all of our Guest Readers that came throughout the week.
Coming Up Next Week:
Phonics- our new letter is the consonant V as in vest.
 
Math – We will begin Topic 9 Composing and Decomposing Numbers to 10
Reading – Our new story is called One Little Mouse. It is an animal fantasy. The comprehension skill is sequence.
 


North Schuylkill Elementary Spring Fling Chinese Auction
Our class will participate in creating a basket for the auction. The theme of our basket is Car Care. If you would like to send an item or items, you could send it in at any time. If you would rather send $2, we will pick up items for the basket. Some examples of items are sponges, car wash/soap, car wax, air freshener, Armor All products, shammies, window cleaner etc.

Week of February 24

Important Information:
Monday will be Day
1, we have Art. Don’t forget your library books for Tuesday, Day 2 and sneakers for Thursday Day 4.
 


We are finishing our Olympic Unit with our closing ceremony on Monday. We will make medals to celebrate learning about the Olympics and participating in our own “Kindergarten Olympics”!
 
This week we also discussed Dental Health.
 
 
Coming Up Next Week:
Phonics- We will finish working with letter Y and begin our new letter, consonant D as in dog and dinosaur.
Dinosaur projects will be due Monday, March 3rd.
Math – We will finish Topic 8 Subtraction and take our assessment.
Reading – Our new Reading story is My Lucky Day. This is one of our favorites! We will discuss the comprehension skill Cause and Effect.
 


 
Read Across America
 
Next week we will begin our Dr. Seuss Author Study! We will also celebrate “Read across America” with students from Bloomsburg University on Friday, February

Week of February 17

There will be no school Monday, February 17th due to President's Day.

The Valentine Party will be held Tuesday, February 18th 1:30-3:00 (even if there is a 2hr. delay)

Tuesday will be Day 3. We will have Music. Don't forget your sneakers for Gym on Wednesday Day 4!

We will continue to work with our current Reading Story, Rooster's Off to See the World focusing on Sequence.

In Math we are working on Subtraction word problems.

We will finish learning the letter E in Phonics and begin letter Y as in yarn.

Our Olympic Unit will come to a close this week. We had so much fun learning about the Olympics, and competing in our own "Kindergarten Olympics"!
