week of December 12

Homework for the week:
Monday-Thursday: ½ sheet practice and continue reading “Stan’s Pigs” from previous week
*There will be no homework the week of December 19. Please enjoy the Holiday!*
Our new letter in Phonics is Rr like in Rabbit. Word list 6 will be the last word list sent home for 2011.
Our Reading story is “See How We Grow” and we will be talking about how we have grown. If you would like to send in a baby picture of your child to share with the class, ld’s name is on the back.
In Math, we will be working with Geoboards and counting by 10’s to 100. We also count pennies in Math meeting and identify nickels and their value.
A big Thank You! to Letter Carrier Eric Hughes and his special elf helper, Dee for coming to pick up our letters to deliver to Santa Claus.
Monday, December 12 – K-2 Music Program 9:30 a.m. School dress code or nicer (Christmas dresses or suits etc.) can be worn. No spirit wear.
Friday, December 16 – We will go to the high school auditorium to watch the elementary band/chorus concert.
Monday, December 19 – “Burble, Fizz, Kaboom” program
Wednesday, December 21- The NSHS Band & Choir will perform for us!
Thursday, December 22 – Polar Express and Holiday Party. Wear your favorite pajamas!
Friday, December 23- Early Dismissal for students, 11:4 5 a.m.
Tuesday, January 3- Welcome back from Holiday Break.
Thursday, January 5- King Day for the Boys for Letter Kk.

Practice sight words
Phonics – consonant F
Math – Graphing, problem solving, patterns, pennies
Reading – Little Quack, will discuss the plot of the story.


School Store will be closed until January due to Santa’s Shop.
Coming Soon:
Friday, December 9 – Our local postman is coming to collect our letters to Santa. Please be sure your letter is in.
