week of December 8, 2014

Math:  We will be finishing Topic 4, Comparing and Ordering Numbers 0-10.  We will be finishing ordering numbers on a number line as well as problem solving using objects.  The assessment will be given towards the end of the week.  We will also start discussing the change to the New Year during Math Meeting along with days and months.  We introduced ¼ and 1/3 in pictures as well.

Reading/Phonics: Our story is called: “Little Panda” and the skill we will be focusing on is: comparing and contrasting.  We are also working on Nn and Bb in the beginning of words and end of words. We will be working on summarizing and using verbs.  We also will be working on responding to literature.  Our amazing words for this story are: weigh, healthy, curious, bamboo, explore.

Science:  In science, we have been working on times of day and seasons of the year.  We are working on characteristics of weather and of each season.  We will be doing holiday centers and have completed lots of holiday writings like a reindeer application and our holiday wish.
