We will finish our last Math chapter Subtraction next week. Review subtraction for a test next week.
Our new Reading story is On the Move. We will discuss how people in different parts of the world travel. We will also identify the main idea and listen for story details.
On Monday morning Teens Against Tobacco students will visit from the high school. We will go outside and take part in the Kick Butts Event.
We are approaching the end of the year testing for kindergarten. The Reading teachers will test each child. Children will need to write a dictated sentence, recognize, write, and give the sound of every letter of the alphabet, be fluent in phonemic segmentation, be able to provide a word that begins with every letter of the alphabet, and be able to use a word in a sentence. Please try to work on some of the areas to be tested and also have your child practice writing as many words spelled correctly in ten minutes to ensure that your child is fully prepared.
Our field trip will be this Friday, May 14. Please remember to send your child to school with a bagged lunch and a drink. Children should wear sneakers that day, no flip flops or sandals and also should wear their blue NSE t-shirt. If there is rain the morning of the 14th, or if you are unsure of the status of the trip, please call the office after 7:00 am. If the weather does not cooperate than the trip will be postponed until May 21st. Please also make sure your child is in school on time that day as we are leaving as soon as the buses arrive in the morning.
