Coming Up Next Week:
Phonics- our new letter is Qq as in Quilt.  The Q and U are a combination and are coded with an arc.
*We will celebrate Queen Day on Friday, April 4th. Girls can dress as fancy as they would like. Information for the Wedding of Q and U will be coming home soon.  This is our last letter of the alphabet before we start working on more Phonics Rules.*
 
Math – We will be finishing work on Topic 10, Comparing Numbers 11 to 19.  We will then start Topic 11, Decomposing Numbers 11 to 19.
 
Reading – Our new story is called Max Takes the Train. We will discuss transportation. Our comprehension skill is sequence and we will be working on the main idea of the story.
 
Thank you for all of your donations for our PTO auction basket. The theme of our basket is car care. The auction is April 12 (shop and drop) and April 13 (auction). Thank you!
 
Graduation pictures are scheduled for Thursday, April 3. Students will be provided with a cap and gown but will need a white collared shirt to wear underneath. Girls, please no headbands, or bows because the cap will not fit properly.
 
 
Please continue to practice sight words and nonsense words often.
 
April 1st starts the 4th Marking Period and 3rd Marking Period report cards will be coming soon.

Graduation pictures are scheduled for Thursday, April 3. Students will be provided with a cap and gown but will need a white collared shirt to wear underneath. Girls, please no headbands, or bows because the cap will not fit properly.

Don’t forget to wear green on Monday for St. Patrick’s Day!
Coming Up Next Week:
Phonics- our new letter is Xx like in the end of fox. We will have a treasure hunt throughout the building to look for the “X” that marks the spot! We are hoping to find treasure.
 
Math – We will finish Topic 9 and begin Topic 10, Comparing Numbers 11 to 19.
 
Reading – Our new story is a nonfiction Informational Text called If You Could Go to Antarctica. Our comprehension skill is Classify and Categorize.

We are planning our fieldtrip for Wednesday, May 28. We will explore the Pioneer Tunnel in Ashland. If you are a homeroom parent and active with PTO commitments, please send a note if you think you would like to attend the fieldtrip.

Coming Up Next Week:
Phonics- our new letter is Jj as in jar. Students can prepare a joke to share with the class any day next week!
Math – We will use objects to show 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in two parts. We will also describe the decomposition of 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 into two parts
Reading – Our new story is called Goldilocks and Three Bears. It is a classic fairy tale. The comprehension skill is Character.
 


North Schuylkill Elementary Spring Fling Chinese Auction
Our class will participate in creating a basket for the auction. The theme of our basket is Car Care. If you would like to send an item or items, you could send it in at any time. If you would rather send $2, we will pick up items for the basket. Some examples of items are sponges, car wash/soap, car wax, air freshener, Armor All products, shammies, window cleaner etc.
