week of November 9, 2015

Week of November 9, 2015

Math- Our Topic 3 is: Six to 10.  We will be: counting, reading, writing, and counting objects up to 10.  We will also be looking for a pattern when solving problems.  Our new pattern in Math Meeting is: AABB.  We have also added all four coins to our daily review along with counting to 100 and writing a mystery number each day.

Science- We are now looking at what we can identify in the day sky versus what you can identify in the night sky.  We will also be talking about time, time of day, and the activities that can take place in each part of the day.  Veterans’ Day is on November 11 and we will be completing a Weekly Reader activity to help celebrate.

Reading- Our new story is: Bear Snores On.  We will be comparing and contrasting realism versus fantasy with our new story.  Our amazing words are: sleep, cave, storm, winter, woods, blustery.  We will also identify the setting of the story and list the characters.

Phonics/Grammar- Our new letter is Cc like in Cat.  We will be identifying the /k/ sound in the beginning and end of words.  We will be listening for rhyme in poems and listing adjectives for sizes and numbers.
