Week of April 1

Writing-  We are writing about what we can see, eat, and ride in different parts of the world. We learned about India and Australia this week and will check out China, and England next week.

Reading- Our new story this week is called The Little Engine that Could. It is a classic fairytale.  Our essential question is: What kind of work do trains do?  Our amazing words are: engine, passenger, mountain, tracks, roudhouse, and valley.  We will be working on plot.  Keep on practicing those sight words and reading together each night for your book logs!  Books logs are due on Monday, new logs will come home then.

Math- We completed our Subtraction unit this week.  Our next unit is called Measurement and Time. We are very excited to get hands on with new Math manipulatives. Our essential question is How and Why do we measure things?

Graduation Pictures- Thursday, April 4. There will be NO make-up picture day. All students will be photographed for the class photo. Students will wear a cap and gown. A white collared shirt is recommended for underneath.  Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 28th @ 1:00PM in the NS High School Auditorium.
