Borden and Mrs. Jones’ Newsletter (Week of March 13, 2017)
Math:
Our new topic is, Topic 9, More Addition
and Subtraction. We will be: writing number sentences for numbers 4-10 and
will be making 4-10 as well as making a graph.
Reading: Our new story is Abuela and
it is a trade book that we will use to focus on the setting of the story along
with a city adventure. Our amazing words
include: abuela, adventure, flock,
city, airport, harbor.
Handwriting/Writing: We have been exploring some different writing
topics such as: making a list, labels,
and questions. We are also putting
emphasis on writing first and last names while only capitalizing the first
letter of both names and writing using lowercase letters. We also stress the use of a 2-finger space in
between the words while writing a sentence.
***Please continue to review all letters,
sounds, numbers, counting patterns, as well as sight words. Also, please continue to read each night and
complete the AR book log as the goal
is at least 15 books a month.
