We will be having our special classes in
the morning all next week due to the older grades having PSSA tests. We switched special times with them.
T-shirt
order
forms were sent home this week from the Track and Field team. These shirts are
being sold to benefit Mary Piaskowski.
Mary is an aide at NSE and spends a lot of time in our Kindergarten
classroom. Mary is battling breast cancer and needs all of our support!
In Reading, we are finishing our
transportation unit with “This Is The Way We Go To School”. Our class is now transportation experts and
we will be comparing and contrasting all the forms of transportation we have covered.
In
Math, we have been working on adding two groups of objects together to get a
sum. We will also be acting out addition
stories. We will be measuring object
using cubes, paper clips, and other nonstandard units.
In
Phonics, we have started diagraphs. We
wrote about them on our daily reflective logs.
A diagraph is 2 letters that come together to make a sound. The diagraphs we have coming up are “ck”
like in duck, “sh”
like in shark and the two “th”
digraphs like in thimble and feather.
Monday is Day 2, Book Exchange, please
remember your library books.
Wednesday is Day 4, Gym, please wear
sneakers.
Our Field Trip will be on Thursday, May
23rd. We will be attending the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey
Circus in Hershey.
Kindergarten graduation will be Tuesday,
May 28th (evening) in the high school auditorium.
