Mrs. Borden and Mrs. Jones’ Nifty Newsletter (week of January
14)
In Phonics, our new letter is Zz like in Zebra. We will
be working on alphabetical order and identifying position of sounds in
words. We will also be identifying how
many words are in a given sentence.
In Math, we will be covering a design in more
than one way with pattern blocks. We
will also continue to work on numbers to
20 and using objects to represent numbers to 20. We will also act out story problems and we
have been counting to 100 by ones, tens, and fives.
Our new Reading story
is Hide Clyde about a chameleon. We will be wrapping up our unit about how
people, plants, and animals grow and change this week. Our target skill is Main Idea of the
story. We will also be working on the difference between questions and answers.
