Week of October 29

Mrs. Borden & Mrs. Jones’ Nifty Newsletter (Week of October 29)

In Phonics we’ll be working with the letter Mm as in monkey.   We will hear and identify the initial and final sounds heard in words, play a game to rhyme words and unblend words to count the sounds.

In Math we’ll be working on sets of ten, describing relative position of objects, acting out story problems using pennies and identifying time to the hour.

Our new Reading story is called Animal Babies in Grasslands. We will discuss who lives in the grasslands and talk about the main idea of the story. The main idea is the most important thing the author wants to talk about.

If you have not sent your $5 party money in for this year’s holiday parties please do so as soon as possible.

Picture retakes will be taken on November 5th.

Kindergarten did a wonderful job this morning at the School Walk for Diabetes at the Spartan Stadium!

The nurse’s office is in need of shirts, pants, socks and sneakers. If you would like to donate any of these items, please send them to school in a bag labeled “Nurses Office”. Also, if your child borrowed clothes from the nurse, please send them back washed as soon as possible.
