Week of March 3

Kindergarten News

This week in phonics we will learn the letter D as in dog and dinosaur. There will not be Show and Tell this week. In place of Show and Tell we will present Dinosaur reports. Information about the report is in your folder today.
In Math we will begin Chapter 9 Measurement. In this chapter we will measure objects using nonstandard units (paper clips, connecting cubes etc.)
In Reading we will begin My Lucky Day. This story looks at where our adventures can take us. We will also discuss Cause and Effect.
Monday is an Act 80 Day. There will be no school.
We will be celebrating Newspaper in Education Week. Check your newspapers this week for our ad. Cut it out and bring it to school to get a treat! Also, students should read with someone nightly and check off on the chart sent home last week. Students will earn a certificate at the end of the year.
Read Across America is scheduled to be this Friday. Bloomsburg University students will read a Dr. Seuss book and teach a lesson. We will also have many other guest readers this week and next to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday.
