This week in
class:
Math: We will be finishing Topic 1, Numbers 1-5. We
will be writing these numbers, counting objects, and working on one-to-one correspondence. Our next topic is Comparing and Ordering
numbers 0-5. Please practice counting as
high as you can!
Reading:
Our new story is called: “Dig, Dig, Digging!” and the skill we will be
focusing on is classifying and categorizing.
We are also working on consonant Tt. We will be working on initial and final Tt in words. In small groups, we are working on letter identification and sight words and reading sentences. We also
will introduce nouns for places and things.
Science:
In our science center, we have
several different kinds of gourds to
observe along with a mum and acorns.
We also talk about different characteristics of fall. We started working on the topic “How do we solve problems?”
Reminders:
We
need volunteers for the Fall
Festival. You only need clearances to do so and this is not a
PTO event. Also, if you did not send in
the $4, please do so as soon as
possible because supplies and snacks need to be purchased prior to the event. Thank you!
Please
keep the sight word envelope in the
folder. We will fill the envelope with
the flash cards as we introduce them
in school. Please practice those
daily. The words include: I, am, the, little, have, is, to, a.
Art shirts and extra clothes may be labeled and left in cubbies for the year in
case they are needed.
