We made our Super Bowl and
Groundhog’s Day predictions this week!
On,
Tuesday February 4th, we will celebrate the 100th day
of school. Students are invited to dress like they are 100 years old! We
will spend the day working on activities involving 100!
Valentine Lists
were sent home on Monday. Please let me know if you did not receive one. Our party will be on February 13th

Coming Up Next Week:
Phonics- our new letter is the
vowel Ee as in elephant. We will work on unblending sounds in words.
Math – We will continue to work
on addition by acting out and drawing addition problems. We are having so
much fun with this!
Reading – Our new story is Hide Clyde. We are practicing the
comprehension skill Main Idea.

Tips and Tricks:
We are working hard on
reading nonsense words. These are not real words; students need to apply their
phonics skills to read them. They will be tested on these words near the end of
the year. Example: zum, kav, mon, tam. Please practice the nonsense word sheet
at home as well. They can be written on flashcards or read off of the sheet.
