Our day to shop at Little Shoppers Shop was this past Tuesday, but we will have another shopping day on December 8 in the morning. If your child did not shop on Tuesday or did go and there is something else they would like to get, please send in their money in an envelope by Tuesday.
We will be having a little present exchange with our Reading Buddies along with a little holiday gathering on December 13 in the afternoon. We will have a small treat and enjoy each other’s company along with exchanging a small gift. We ask that you send in something for your child’s reading buddy by Friday, December 10. Please spend between $1 and $2 for the gift. The Dollar Store has many great items that the 4th graders would enjoy. Please also label the gift with the name of your child and their reading buddy. If you need to know their buddy’s name, please let us know.
Next week our Phonics letter will be Ff like in Fish. We will be working on a new decodable reader so please look for that in the clear page protector in your child’s folder. We will also be have a Show and Tell for that week as well.
In Math, we will continue to work on AB and ABB patterns as well as count pennies to shop at our classroom store. In Math Meeting, we are counting by 10’s and work on identifying day, month, year, and count the days on the calendar.
Our reading story next week will be “A Bed for Winter”. We have been working on fiction and nonfiction stories, author and illustrator, characters, setting, and sequencing. Our unit on Animal Habitats will be soon coming to a close.
Over the next several weeks, we will have many exciting things coming up for the holidays. Some of the dates that will be important include:
Reading Buddy Get Together : December 13, gifts due December 10
Holiday Concert for Grades K-2: December 13
Holiday Parties: December 22
Early Dismissal: December 23
Thank you so much for your continued support and involvement in your child’s learning!
