Week of September 14

Kindergarten Newsletter
“A Peek at the Week”
Homework
Monday thru Friday - Color Show & Tell
Wednesday- O Handwriting Sheet

We have finished our second week of school and the students are adjusting very well! We also learned to recognize and write the letter “L” this week. The students enjoyed showing their “L” items from home for show-and-tell and they really enjoyed our Luau Party on Friday!!!
For the next two weeks, we will be talking about and reviewing our colors. We ask that your child bring something from home that is the “color of the day” according to the schedule. This will count as Show & Tell for the next two weeks:
Monday, September 14: blue
Tuesday, September 15: green
Wednesday, September 16: brown
Thursday, September 17: black
Friday, September 18: red
Monday, September 21: orange
Tuesday, September 22: pink
Wednesday, September 23: purple
Thursday, September 24: yellow
Friday, September 25: Favorite color
Our letter for next week is “O” as in octopus. We will also have our school Occupational Therapist visit as a Kindergarten guest to go along with letter O.
In Math we will continue to work with positional words like above, below, over, under, in, out, left, and right. We will also be learning to sort objects by color, shape, size, and kind.
Monday, September 14 will be school picture day. Please make sure you fill out the envelopes that were sent home and return them by Monday. (FYI: Money is due at the time of pictures!)
Book Fair will also take place next week, September 14-18. Information will come home in your child’s folder. Parents will be able to shop with their child on Tuesday night from 4-7 p.m. if interested.
Monday will be Day 4 on our special class schedule.
Thank you for all of your cooperation!!!
