Reading: Our new story is: Bear Snores On. We will be
looking at Realism vs. Reality. Our
letter is Cc like in Cactus. We will
also be talking about adjectives for size and what a poem is. We will be listening for Setting. Our amazing words are: sleep, cave, storm, winter, woods, blustery.
Math: We just started Topic 3, numbers 6-10. We
will learn how to read, write, and count numbers 6-10. We will learn how to show those numbers in
different ways.
Science: We will also be continuing our
Earth/Sky unit and we will be graphing the weather for one week to compare the
many different weather throughout the week.
We talked about Daylight Savings Time as well and did a whole lesson on
Squash. We read a fiction story, wrote
about the 5 senses with squash, tried squash, and graphed if we liked it or
not.
*****Please continue to practice sight words, letters, and
sounds. We have seen such
improvement! Please read a book a night
and fill out the AR log accordingly. It
really helps to read daily to develop many different reading skills.
*****Please fill out and return the Field Trip forms if you did
not do so already. More information will
follow. Students are asked to wear dress
code or better. They should not wear Gym
clothes, with a polo and dress code pants at minimum. Students may wear Holiday Dresses or Clothes,
even if they are not dress code.
******Now that Daylight Savings Time ended, no short will allowed
at NSE.
******Thanks for your participation, cooperation and hard work!!!!!
